The club is proud to announce an exciting new chapter in its continued development, confirming a transition into the Essex Junior Alliance (EJA) through a working partnership with Dunmow Town FC.

This strategic move comes after several months of planning behind the scenes, as part of the club’s ongoing commitment to raising standards and enhancing the football experience for all players. The transition represents a significant step towards establishing the club as a leading destination for player development within Essex.

Through this partnership and league progression, players will gain access to one of the highest standards of football available outside of the professional academy system.

What This Means

The transition will apply to squads from U13 through to U18, with fixtures taking place on Sundays as part of the EJA league programme.

Players can look forward to:

  • Competing at a higher level of football
  • Playing at top-quality facilities
  • Accessing new competitions and opportunities not previously available

Official Club Statement

“As a club, we are always looking for ways to raise the standard and quality of football we provide for our players. This move into the Essex Junior Alliance, alongside our partnership with Dunmow Town FC, is a significant step forward in that journey.

We believe this transition will not only challenge and develop our players further, but also strengthen our pathway and overall club environment. It’s an exciting time for everyone connected with the club.”

Further details regarding the transition will be communicated in the coming weeks, ensuring that existing players and families are fully informed and supported throughout the process.

WUKA Partners with FC Evolution to Help Girls #TackleAnything on Their Period

No girl should ever feel like her period is a reason to sit out, miss training, or give up the sport she loves.

At FC Evolution, we believe football should be a place where girls feel confident, supported and able to play without worry – every week of the month.

That’s why we’re proud to be partnering with WUKA, the female-founded brand behind the #TackleAnything campaign, to help remove period-related barriers in grassroots football.

Football Without Fear or Embarrassment

Periods are a normal part of growing up, yet for many girls they can feel awkward, worrying or even embarrassing – especially when it comes to sport. Concerns about leaks, discomfort or being judged can knock confidence and stop girls from enjoying football at a crucial age.

WUKA – which stands for Wake Up Kick Ass – exists to change that. As an award-winning women’s health brand, WUKA is committed to breaking down period stigma and making sure periods never stand in the way of confidence, movement or ambition.

Keeping Girls in the Game

The reason this partnership matters is simple: too many girls drop out of sport during their teenage years, often around the time their periods begin.

  • 3 in 4 girls avoid sport during their period

  • This rises to 78% among girls who have already dropped out

  • 43% of girls stop playing sport after primary school

By normalising conversations around periods and providing real support, we can help keep girls playing, growing in confidence and developing a lifelong love of football.

Our Commitment to Girls’ Football

At FC Evolution, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for every player. Partnering with WUKA, with the valued support of Essex FA, is one more way we are backing our girls – not just as footballers, but as young people.

Because periods shouldn’t stop play.

Because confidence matters.

And because every girl deserves the chance to play the game she loves.

FC Evolution Announces New Performance Partnership with the University of Hertfordshire

FC Evolution is proud to announce an exciting new performance partnership with the University of Hertfordshire, marking a significant step forward in the development of the women’s game and our long-term vision for female player pathways.

The collaboration will see FC Evolution play a key role in the delivery and strategic direction of the Herts Women’s Performance Football Programme, supporting its ambition to become one of the leading university football pathways in the UK.

Why the University of Hertfordshire Chose FC Evolution

As part of their long-term strategy to elevate women’s football, the University of Hertfordshire set out to identify a partner who could help drive standards, innovation and performance across the programme. Their key objectives included:

  • Reviewing, shaping and elevating the existing women’s football programme

  • Bringing expert coaching knowledge, with a strong understanding of the female game

  • Introducing fresh ideas, high standards and enhanced player experiences

  • Supporting the development of a Women’s Senior Team and a clear progression pathway

  • Building a programme capable of competing at the top end of university football

Following discussions, FC Evolution emerged as the ideal partner to support this vision.

A Partnership Built on Shared Ambition

Bryn Clark, Deputy Director of Sport at the University of Hertfordshire, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership:

“As a university, we are delighted and excited to be working with FC Evolution, who have an outstanding reputation within the football coaching and management business.

Working initially with our women’s performance football programme, FC Evolution will play a huge role in shaping and directing the programme with the aim of becoming one of the leading women’s football pathways in the university sector.

From the initial discussions, we were impressed with Michael and knew their experience and knowledge, coupled with outstanding delivery standards, would make for an excellent working partnership. We look forward to a successful period for the women’s football programme.”*

Creating a Clear Player Pathway

For FC Evolution, this partnership represents an exciting opportunity to extend our impact within the women’s game and support players beyond youth football and into higher education and senior performance environments.

Chairman Michael Richardson commented:

“Our partnership with the University of Hertfordshire is a fantastic step forward for FC Evolution. Working together to deliver their Women’s Performance Team creates a clear and meaningful pathway for our players to remain in higher education while continuing to receive first-class coaching and outstanding off-pitch support.

This collaboration not only strengthens opportunities for our female players, but also aligns perfectly with our ambition to launch an FC Evolution Women’s Senior Team for the 2026 season.”*

Looking Ahead

This partnership reinforces FC Evolution’s commitment to developing well-rounded footballers, creating genuine progression routes, and raising standards within the women’s game. We’re excited about what the future holds and look forward to working closely with the University of Hertfordshire to deliver a high-performance environment that supports players both on and off the pitch.

More updates will follow as the programme develops.
