From a young age, like so many other kids out there, I always dreamed of becoming a professional footballer. I idolised players like Gazza, Beckham, and Sheringham, watching them live this incredible life, playing for top clubs and appearing on TV.

Like many others, I didn’t make it to the professional level. Instead, I played non-league football throughout my career, which was a fantastic experience. It gave me countless memories and lessons that have helped shape the person I am today.

As coaches, it’s our job to guide players on their journey, whether that’s in grassroots football or at the very top. The word ‘coach’ says it all: we help players move forward, both as footballers and as people. And for me, that’s the most rewarding part of all.
